Gathering of the clan at Irving's in Pembroke

Chuck's Roadhouse in Sudbury for lunch

At our first stop, The Carolyn Beach Inn on the north shore of Lake Huron, Thessalon ON

Nice place to RON with a great view of the Lake and great sunsets

Popular with the biker crowd, with the start of the popular Hwy 129 within a mile

Sparky enjoying a walk on the Lake Huron beach

Pudly enjoying a refreshing swim in Lake Huron. Everyone was wondering how come my clothes weren't wet

Beginning of the sunset

Now congregating at the duty free in the Sault before crossing to the USA

Crossing over, welcome to the USA

First excursion, boat tour of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore out of Munising WI. 2 hrs aboard a twin diesel catamaran with a top speed of 26 mph. Well worth the money and a trip highlight

The back end crew, David wondering what to snack on

The front end crew got a little more windblown

First falls, Bridalveil, on the Pictured Rocks

These rock cliffs rise over 200 feet above Lake Superior, awesome and colourful. The boat tour is really the best way to see them in all their glory

Sea kayaks can also be rented for an even more up close and personal visit but only if the water conditions are calm enough

Indian chief's head silhouette with the trees as the headdress

The Battleships formation

The crew tucked the boat into a gap on the cliff face. It only happens when it is calm and it got everyone's attention, with little room for error

Anyone into a tight rope walk on a tree root? No doubt some tourons (combo of tourist and moron if you hadn't heard) have tried it

The last falls, Spray Falls

Some of us attended Whisky Dicks bar and grill after the boat cruise, in Munising

Sparky and Pudly out for a walk in Munising

At the Pictured Rocks Inn and Suites. I ran into one of the C8 design engineers from team Corvette in the lobby. Unfortunately we never got to have a chat later

As you can see from the licence plate this veteran was a recipient of the Bronze Star, not something that you see everyday

Dining at the Dogpatch restaurant in Munising, WI. Great grub

Parked now in downtown Manitowoc, WI after a little rain driving

USS Cobia at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum

Johnny's mound of Tacos at the Fat Seagull (the restaurant not the patron) in Manitowoc, WI. Didn't finish her

Getting ready to board the USS Cobia, aye matey

Fwd torpedo bay

Arghhh Billy, make way the hatchway

Main control room

Some of the lads who served upon her

Looking a little eerie in the red glow, rigged for silent running

Engine room

Battle drills?

Aft torpedo bay

Large steam engine

This little "need for speed" unit reached 54 mph. Wonder how stable it was?

I have a hard time looking at this picture however I had never seen lampreys up close and personal

On the shores of Lake Michigan between Manitowoc and Two Rivers MI

Now at the Lighthouse Inn in Two Rivers, WI.

The folks getting ready for supper at the Lighthouse Inn restaurant

A10 "Warthog" pilot's Harley

Boathouse Pub and Eatery, good food

Johnny and Kirk sample the oysters on the half shell

Quite the Westphalia

Now entering Chicago, full stop on I94. Traffic sucked in case you were wondering

Still on I94. At least we can see downtown now

Now parked at the downtown Chicago parking lot, heading for the Wendella boat launch. Parking lot arrival went OK, Parking lot departure, not so much.....

Another theme on this trip for some reason. Sparky found a pair in downtown Chicago

The gang mulling about waiting for the boat cruise, the drivers probably wishing that they had brought a change of shorts

This was definitely another highlight of the trip, the Chicago boat cruise itself, not the getting there or leaving however

This building had condos up top, cars parked in the lower levels and boats in the river marina at the bottom of the building

Locals call them "Pez heads"

The building reflections are amazing

On the building a map of the Chicago River

The Sears Tower

This lifting bridge is still in operation

The gold topped building looks like a champagne bottle

City skyline as seen from the east

Now at the Quaker Steak and Lube, Portage Indiana, after the toll highways from HELL

I was trying to think positive

Enroute to Muskegon, MI

Parked in downtown Charlevoix MI for lunch. Our old 2008 Jetstream Blue C6 Z06 paid us a visit. First time with our old and new Z06s side by side (just looked like our old C6 by the way)

Charlevoix waterfront, nice little town

Coming into town there were many cherry trees and this area is known for all things made from cherries

The Mackinac bridge in the distance although we did not need to cross over

Now in Mackinaw City with a bit more rain

Some of us watched the rain, whilst others were out in it. Rick and Nancy went to Mackinac Island

Suppertime at the Dixie Saloon

Backside of Mack-a-tron, a lifesize copy of Bumble Bee Transformer in downtown Mackinaw City. Made from metal car and bridge parts. Pretty impressive

Front side, towering over Pudly and Sparky

I needed to floss

The big weeny, just don't add ketchup

I think that some of us stayed up later that night

Now in Tawas City MI, shores of Lake Huron

Planetarium in Bay City, MI

Downtown Bay City

That theme again

Gatsby's Seafood and Steakhouse Bay City

Stopover in Frankenmuth, quite the quaint little town

Fudge factory

German sweets anyone?

Zehnder's famous chicken house, Frankenmuth's first restaurant 1856

Some folks will do anything for a picture, even if they haven't flossed for a couple of days

Covered bridge downtown Frankenmuth

The Maypole

Says it all

Quite the head of Gouda, 20.3 lbs, $669.70. Anything to declare? Some cheese....

Frick then Frack on the street xylophone

Sarnia waterfront after the Blue Water bridge crossing from HELLLL.....

Enroute to Collingwood, a 2008 C6 Z06

Downtown Collingwood

The infamous door. For inquiring minds ask Sparky

The End. My statistics.

Addendum. David and Shirley, just glad that it wasn't Vegas

Johnny has hold of his weiner (er weiner dog) playing around the Maypole in Frankenmuth. How do you say Tourons again

Kirk with Bumble Bee

David pretending

And Johnny finally gets the last word up up and away. The END
