++++ CALENDAR OF EVENTS - 2011 ++++
This year, in addition to week-end day cruises, we hope to make ourselves more visible at local car shows and Show'n'Shines in the area to promote our club and possibly attract new members. If you know of any local shows or Show'n'Shines that we could attend, let me know by emailing me.
Cobden - Logo's Land, at the Ark, just east of Cobden. Every SECOND Thursday night, starting May 19 and then : June 2, 16, 30, July 14, 28, August 11, 25, September 8, 6PM to dusk. Prize draw!
Renfrew - The former Petro Canada near the water tower. Tuesday nights, 5 to 7.
Pembroke - Harvey's, every SECOND Thursday beginning May 12 and then: May 26, June 9, June 23,
July 7, July 21, Aug 4, Aug 18 and September 1 which is the last night.

The February meeting will be held in Renfrew at the Rocky Mountain House on Tuesday, February 14.
Drinks 6:00PM, dinner for 6:30PM

Wednesday - Ottawa - Rideau Carleton Raceway, 4837 Albion Road. 5:00 - 9:00 pm - May - September This is a very big Show&Shine that was held at Place de Orleans for a number of years.
Good food, slot machines and lot's of cars to see. Should be worth going.

June 26th - Sunday - Carleton Place from 9:00AM to 3:00 PM

July 23th - Saturday, Logo's Land 11th Annual CarShow, Registration 10AM, show from 12 to 3.
Just east of Cobden, 15906 Hwy 17, at the Ark.

July 24th - 25th - Saturday/Sunday, Vettes At The Beach, Sylvan Beach, Syracuse, NY - 400 plus Vettes !! This can be an over-night trip or a quick one day trip on Sunday. -?

July 30 - Saturday, a car cruise night and BBQ in Combermere from 5:00 or so until dusk.
50s music, free BBQ and drinks, some door prizes. Everyone welcome.

The Mid America Motorworks Funfest is very soon (Sept 16 – 18). Sorry I didn’t get an announcement out sooner…these things just seem to creep up on you. I have not had any queries about it so I am thinking the interest is low.
I have checked and hotels can still be had within 20 miles, and other than that there is nothing else we have do except register in advance if we choose. The thing is, I didn’t realize it was quite as far as it is…1500 km is a bit of drive. We could plan it as 5 day trip, but that might be a stretch for a lot of us. If its a 4 day adventure then it would probably entail leaving early Thursday morning and doing a good 12 hours of driving. Then, plan another 4 hours on Friday morning to arrive at the show site around 10:00 am. Spend the day at the show, followed by some show time on Saturday and then take off early Saturday afternoon to get some hours under our belt before the drive home on Sunday.
At this point though, could I please here from all one way or another. The response can be a simple “Not interested” or “Would like to go if others are going and only if its (4 days or 5 days or whatever other conditions you care to add)” or some such response. I know it’s a pain, but please reply to…it’s more expedient. I’ll reply to those interested quickly and pull together the plan.
